How Our Custom Process Works

Every custom piece starts with a conversation. Submit your request below and we'll guide you through each step — from concept to finished product.

Submit a Quote Request — Fill out the form below with your project details, dimensions, quantity, and artwork.
Receive a Digital Proof — We'll send a mockup for your review before anything is cut or engraved. No production begins without your approval.
Approve Your Proof — Reply with your approval or requested changes. Up to two revision rounds are included.
Fabrication & Engraving — Once approved, your order enters our production queue.
Payment & Shipping — Final payment is collected before shipment. You'll receive tracking once your order ships.

Before You Submit — Custom Order Checklist

Use this checklist to prepare your request. Complete submissions get faster turnaround.

📄 Accepted File Formats

✅ Preferred (vector): SVG, PDF, AI, EPS
✅ Accepted (raster): PNG or JPEG at 300 dpi or higher, sized to final engraving dimensions
❌ Not accepted: Word documents, screenshots, photos of logos, or low-resolution web images
💡 Tip: Vector files produce the sharpest laser engraving results.

📤 How to Upload Your Artwork

Attach your file directly in the quote request form below.
If your file exceeds 20 MB, share a download link (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer) in the notes field.
Include any color, orientation, or placement notes in the "Additional Details" field.
We'll confirm receipt and flag any file issues within 1 business day.

✏️ Engraving Text Limits

Max characters per line: ~40 characters (depends on board size and font)
Minimum font size: 10pt equivalent at engraving scale — smaller text may not engrave cleanly
Line limit: Up to 5 lines of text per engraving zone
If you're engraving text only (no logo), plain text in the notes field is fine — no file needed
Special characters (accents, symbols) are supported; please confirm in your notes

🌳 Wood Selection Guidance

Maple — Light, tight grain; ideal for fine detail engraving and high-contrast results
Walnut — Rich dark tone; engraving appears lighter and more subtle; excellent for premium gifting
Cherry — Warm mid-tone; develops deeper color over time; great for heirloom pieces
Not sure? Note your end use (kitchen, display, gift) and we'll recommend a species

⏰ Turnaround Time Guidance

Standard: 7–10 business days after proof approval
Rush (when available): 3–5 business days — inquire at time of quote
Turnaround does not include shipping transit time
Peak seasons (November–December, Valentine's week) may add 3–5 business days — order early
Custom orders are non-cancellable once production begins

🔒 Artwork Ownership & Licensing

By submitting artwork with your custom order request, you confirm that:

You are the original creator of the artwork, or
You hold a valid license to use and reproduce the artwork commercially, or
The artwork is in the public domain or is copyright-free

All In Fine Wood reserves the right to decline requests for artwork that appears to infringe on third-party intellectual property, including brand logos, sports team marks, character designs, or other protected works without documented licensing.
